A bandaged man, his forehead and arms marked by battles already fought, still grips his staff firmly in his hands, ready to keep going if he must — the Nine of Wands is the card of resilience that has already been tested. Standing there, he's telling you that you've been through a lot, you're worn out, but you're still on your feet anyway. He glances over his shoulder, wary, because he's learned the hard way not to let his guard down too soon. You have determination, and you'll overcome this next obstacle just like you've overcome the ones before it. It may signal that one more setback is coming, the last one before the finish line, but with it comes the certainty that you've already proven, more than once, that you know how to weather the storm.

Reversed, the Nine of Wands is weight becoming too heavy — the feeling of being knocked down just when you're already on the ground, unsure if you can get up one more time. It's exhaustion that's crossed the line of what's reasonable, the lack of support from people who should be there, the load of responsibilities that nobody's sharing with you. (…)
