Upright

The Hanged Man hangs upside down, yet his face is peaceful. Upright, he signals that it's time to pause, to see the situation from a different angle, and to stop forcing what isn't flowing. The golden halo around his head shows that this pause, however uncomfortable it may look from the outside, is what brings clarity within. It's not defeat — it's the wisdom of knowing when to release control. Sometimes staying still is the wisest move there is. What looks like sacrifice from the outside is usually, from within, a conscious act of choice.

Reversed

Reversed, the Hanged Man is resistance to the pause — you fighting against the need to shift perspective, clinging to the same view even when it no longer serves you. It can also signal sacrifice without return, giving much and receiving little in something that needs to be reassessed. (…)
